Blinging for a good cause!

I am so excited about all the great advancements I am making with my Paparazzi Accessories business!

Did you know that I always welcome customers to come to my home and shop my inventory? I made a friend recently and she needed to match some outfits with accessories for a business convention. She came over with her outfits and we had a great time perfecting her ensembles with that finishing sparkle! I know she is going to look amazing while she is out of town. What is more fun than going shopping with a personal assistant where you don't have to get dressed or put on makeup and you NEVER have to wait in line! Nothing! Nothing is better than that. You would have to try it out so you know that what I say is the truth!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be taking my BLING to a Cook-Off at Augusta Pines. The Cook-Off is to benefit Buddy Norris Roundup for Autism and will be held on February 7 from 12:00-5:00 PM. Just in case you are not familiar with football, like me, that is Super Bowl Sunday. Don't worry though! You can watch the game in the beautiful Country Club and really have a blast while supporting a great cause!

I also booked a vendor booth for Operation Pets Alive  Rescue Ride! If you know me, you know I love my pets!  Operation Pets Alive! is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that: Raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive. I can't wait to support such a great cause. I can't even go to the local dog shelter without crying like a baby, so knowing that we are raising funds to keep those precious animals from being euthanized really makes me happy. You can come support the cause on April 19th, at Papa's on the Lake! I'm sure it will be a fun time.

I am so glad that I have the ability to participate in fundraising for these great causes. I love the Paparazzi Accessories Mission Statement: To bring strength, independence and empowerment to individuals and their families by building confidence and financial freedom through affordable fashion.  While $5 jewelry may not change the world, we believe those who wear it will.

My efforts may be small, but they add up. If I can help just one person or organization through my business then that is good enough for me, but the truth is, the more I can help, the better. Ever since I started my business, I have tried to be blessed by being a blessing. I truly believe that what you put out in the world will back to you. Early on I knew I wanted to bless others through my business no matter what shape or form that took. I will continue following that model, as it has served me well so far.

Man, I love my job!

The life of a Paparazzi Accessories consultant has been great this January!

Last Wednesday I learned of an opening for a really cool event at 11:26. I was there with my bling by 4:30.

The event is called Botox, Wine & Chocolate and is held at Cork This Winery and it is so much fun.
Several vendors are invited to sell their products, wine is $5.00 a glass, (and it is so yummy!) plus there is an opportunity to get Botox from the incredible staff of Stone Creek WellnessCenter and Medical Aesthetics.

I met so many great ladies at the event and was able to check out some really great products. I love the fact that I was able to work in a laid back environment while enjoying the delicious wine. I like sweet wines so I chose a glass of Girl’s Night Out White Wine, which is one of my favorites. I also tried Alcholiday Peach Apricot Chardonnay. Now I have a new favorite!

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share Paparazzi Accessories with the ladies that attended Botox, Wine and Chocolate. I am especially grateful to my friend, Stephanie, for securing my spot as well as the owner of Cork This Winery, Karla Nash, for opening up her beautiful winery to other business women. I think it is so gracious of her to offer such a great opportunity to other small business owners.

I love getting out in the community to share Paparazzi Accessories with new people!

I'm starting 2016 off with a bang!

2016 has been great for my business so far! I celebrated my one year Papaversary, I signed up for our Empower Me Pink Tour, and our convention which will be in LAS VEGAS!!! (I have never been before!) I also booked my booth for the 2nd Annual Pin It Expo. I attended EMP tour, convention and two Pin It Expo events last year and I know they won't disappoint this year! On January 6th I had my Ribbon Cutting at the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce.

I was surprised that the ribbon cutting stirred up some emotions. I almost shed a tear of joy, but I held it together. It really meant a lot to me that my fellow chamber members showed up to help me celebrate my business. My great friend, Margie Taylor, of Taylorized PR took time out of her busy schedule to join me. When I say busy, I mean BUSY! It also meant the world to me that my mother showed up. She has been working her butt off at Shoot-N-Cut Processing Plant, which she owns with my dad. It has been a very busy season for them, which is great, so I was surprised she was able to make it!.

My customers have blessed me with $130.00 in sales already! I love how my customers become my friends. One specific comes to mind. I met Meredith at a vendor event I organized for Conroe's Incredible Pizza in November. She was a vendor as well. She made her first purchase that day and has been a great customer ever since. The thing is, I don't feel comfortable calling her a customer now. She met me for lunch on my 1 year anniversary, (Unbeknownst to her.) and it was a great way to celebrate! She then invited me to a Mary Kay makeover party on her birthday yesterday! She sent me the sweetest text afterward. I need a word to combine friend and customer. Friendstumor? Nah. Custofriend? I don't know.

I love that my $5 accessories has brought so many customers that have turned into friends. I need to sit down and make a list of all the friends I have made through my Paparazzi Accessories business. These connections are priceless and bring me so much joy! As I write this, I wonder, how many more friends will I make this year as a result of selling $5.00 bling? The sky is the limit!

2016 has me so excited!

Happy PapaVersary to Me!!!

Today marks one year that I have been working my Paparazzi Accessories business!

When I joined, my only real intention was to make back the money from my starter kit. My initial $500 investment felt so risky one year ago today. Once my first party brought over $300 in sales, I was hooked! I realized that maybe there was some potential to make money on $5.00 accessories. I was floored.

I invested a lot of time, effort, money, blood sweat and tears. (Literally, blood, sweat and tears!)
I worked my butt off. I never planned to build a team, but my team came to me! In one year, 9 consultants joined my team. I made Director in 2 months. That wasn't even on my radar. I never chased my promotion. My teammates joined of their on volition. I have even had strangers sign up under me. Now they are my friends.

That brings up the best aspect of my journey with Paparazzi Accessories. I used to be so closed off and filled with social anxiety. My business has helped me to come out of my shell and broken down so many barriers that I had built up around myself. I have made so many new friends and connections as a result of my business. I met so many people in the last year, I am sure the number would easily beat the amount of people I had met and maintained a relationship with in the past 5 years prior.

I never realized that signing up to sell Paparazzi Accessories was going to change my life. That statement may seem cheesy but it is the truth. I feel like a whole different person in one short year. I never even wore accessories before I found Paparazzi. Now I feel naked if I walk out of the house without my necklace, matching earrings, bracelet(s) and ring! I love my bling! I feel confident and put together in my Paparazzi Accessories. I carry myself with a little more pride simply by knowing I am rocking a look that is trendy, affordable and gorgeous. Strangers compliment the jewelry often and I have even sold the accessories off of my body on a few occasions.

As one year closes, I look back and I can't believe the income that has come from $5.00 accessories. I made over $8,000.00 selling $5.00 jewelry in 12 months. That is 5 times the amount of my last raise at my full time job and Paparazzi is a part time job for me. When I did the math, I couldn't believe my eyes. My hard work paid off. Honestly, though, the money means so much less to me than the experiences and people that Paparazzi has brought into my life.

This past year has been a whirlwind and I have loved it. I have had to get out of my comfort zone, grow and learn so much. I can't wait to see what my second year with Paparazzi has in store for me.

I owe a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to my family, customers, friends and team for support, encouragement and loyalty to my business. I couldn't have done it without each and every one of you!

Sunday is my favorite day. I wake up and sit outside for a few hours. I take in the beauty of nature around me, drink coffee and sit with my thoughts. I look at PostSecret.com every Sunday morning. I check Facebook and emails. All while listening to the birds chirp.

Today I was doing some Paparazzi social networking and it caused me to reflect. I greatly enjoy so many aspects of my Paparazzi gig, but these specifically have really filled me with joy:

I think I was born a crafty person. I always have loved arts and crafts. My craft skills have come back as a result of Paparazzi. I have donated baskets for silent auction and come up with gift bags and baskets for holidays and I love pulling it all together with a beautiful presentation!

I'm a more eager gift giver than receiver so making up awesome gifts is a fun "Job" for me. I love trying to be creative. I like to imagine how the recipient will react.  I also get to vicariously give gifts to girls. I have a step-son so I don't get to buy girly things for a girly girl. Now I do and it is so much fun!

I know this might sound weird, but I enjoyirganizing my jewelry like you wouldn't believe. I like things to be color coded and when I have to work new stuff in its like playing with a jewelry filled puzzle or Tetris. Making everything fit while still looking appealing. Who knew.

These photos are of my set up at my friend's in home party. I met this friend at a vendor event we both participated which brings me to my last and most important aspect of how amazing Paparazzi Accessories has been for my life.

I have met and worked with some very amazing people that I have no doubt, I never would have met had it not been for Paparazzi. I have made more new friends in 9 months than I have in the past 9 years. I have really connected with people and some of my customers. It's amazing. I get to make friends through my business. I learn so much and get so many great opportunities through these connections. And I am also so much more connected to my community. As an adult I have had some struggles with social interaction, but Paparazzi has given me a way to overcome that challenge and in a very big way.

This may sound cheesy, but it's true. Last November I bought $15 worth of Paparazzi Accessories. Me. The woman who never wore costume jewelry. Little did I know that by January Paparazzi was going to take my life by storm! I had no idea on January 4th, 2015 my life would be changing in a huge way. It's been a great nine months. I have put a lot of hard work into my business but I have loved every minute of it!

My Paparazzi Story

One of the founders of Paparazzi has asked us to share our story. I am amazed at the progress I have made and by how Paparazzi has really improved my life! I hope you have to time to read about my journey with Paparazzi!
My story begins when I went to a VFW craft show in Conroe, TX. It was a nasty, drizzly and cold day. The turnout was dismal. To be nice I walked through all the booths. I wasn't interested in much. I stopped in a both that had handmade jewelry and I heard about the person who made it and I knew I had to make a purchase. I spent about $30 on a nice necklace and two rings for my 13 year old cousin as a Christmas gift.
The next booth I went into was a Paparazzi booth. Let me stop here to say, I do not wear costume jewelry. I wear 2 necklaces that are white gold, two rings that are white gold, diamond studs and a watch. And I had barely become comfortable with that at this point in time. So I am still in the "looking to be nice" mindset. Then the young lady says, "Everything is $5". I looked at her in shock. (I have now been on the other side of that reaction A LOT!) I saw "All The Trimmings in Gray" and I saw the pair of earrings too and I figured; This has to be $10 because it is two things, so I pick it up and ask in disbelief, "This is $5.00?!!?!?!?" and she calmly replies "Yes." My mind was BLOWN!!! So then I am not looking to be nice, I am looking to buy! And I picked out a bracelet too.
By this point I am in front of some little girl jewelry which really wasn't on my radar. The nice lady then says, "Those little girl items are two for $5.00. I think I almost sprained my neck when I gave her that look for a second time. I literally stood in front of that Starlet Shimmer and ran through my mental Rolodex to think of a little girl that I could buy some jewelry for. No lie. Not only was it hard to believe the price and quality of this jewelry. It was also so hard to swallow that I wanted to wear this costume jewelry! I was so impressed that I told everyone I know about it. I eventually decided I wanted to have a party featuring Scentsy, Pure Romance and Paparazzi. I needed people to know about this awesome jewelry because I had received so many compliments and realized my friends and family had to see it to believe it! So I pulled out the personal info that had been in my bag. I was going to ask the lady I had purchased from to be a part of my party. And then I dug a little deeper. I read 45% commission. That can't be beat. I like that number! I liked everything I read, I researched the company. I knew if I would buy it, anyone would buy it. I also felt like it really does sell itself if you see it in person!
Within an hour or two I purchased the Large Home Party Kit for $499.00. I had done the math on how much I would have to sell to pay for the kit. As soon as I finalized my purchase I felt a little queasy. That was a lot of money, but I knew if I was going to do this, I was going to go big or go home! At my launch party, I sold close to $300 (Meaning I WAS PAID to $110.00 to hang out with my friends over margaritas and some fantastic food!) The next Monday, I took some of my inventory to work and sold $100 between 2 co-workers. (I made $36.00 with no effort AT ALL. (Unless you count packing it to take up there.)
I had no regrets. My first party I didn't have displays and I hadn't even pulled that much of my inventory out of the boxes. My Grandma went into my office and threw it ALL OVER my house! It looked like Paparazzi had thrown up on everything. I used to work at Walmart and the hysteria was similar to Black Friday. They were like a herd of buffalo. No fighting, thank God, but they were in a frenzy! A week after that party I found another $75.00 in my desk drawer that I had overlooked. (So I had made $172 in the span of two days!)
I was in shock. I didn't push anything. I had the party just to have the party. They asked me if there was a presentation. I said no. I also said no games. "Talk amongst yourselves, enjoy happy hour, mingle and let me know if you have any questions. Just look and if you see something you like, grab it. I will tally it up at the end." I have never been into hard selling and I have been in sales a time or two. I made that much and I gave quite a few freebies.
I invested in display items, my husband made me a few pegboard cases and I have slowly built up my stock and presentation. I have parties and vendor events scheduled from now until October. (I'm not completely booked, but I have quite a bit of leads.)
I love this job! It is the most fun I have ever had working and this is the first time that I have to make myself "clock out"! I want to work over-time! I love my customers and I love my team. I also love the products! I get to be my own walking billboard and I am loving it! I never would have believed that I would love to wear costume jewelry, but I do! You will too! What I love the most about Paparazzi and my decision to join is the connections I have made. I have dealt with social anxiety for a long time. This “job” has pushed me out of so many of my old comfort zones, not just socially. I have really grown as a person through my business. I have met some amazing people, learned so much and I have found a passion that I never expected would all start with a $5.00 accessory. I am so lucky to have made the leap and join such an amazing company.
The sky is the limit and a fire has been ignited in me. I love Paparazzi!‪#‎NoExcuses‬ ‪#‎PaparazziAccessories‬ ‪#‎ILoveMyJob‬
